Sevilla are on a heavy decline. From a title contender a few seasons ago, they look more like a relegation candidate at the moment. Their decline was evident in the last two seasons as they finished 11th and 13th. To be fair, they saved one of those seasons by winning the European League title. Still, in La Liga, Sevilla continued their downfall, at least in the first part of this season. After six rounds, the Andalusian team won just five points and are in 14th place. The particularly worrisome thing is that they did not have a tough schedule. Now, they are under pressure to win all three points against Real Valladolid because they will face Athletic Bilbao, Real Betis, and Barcelona in the following games.

Real Valladolid are one of the teams that constantly traveled between La Liga and La Liga 2 in the 21st century. Last year, they won the promotion by finishing 2nd, but this season, they are one of the primary candidates for relegation. After six rounds, they are 17th with just five points - only one point away from the danger zone. Over the Summer, the popular Pucelle added a lot of new faces, but the impression is that they are not good enough for this level of competition.

Sevilla vs Real Valladolid pick: Under 2.5 goals

Last year, Sevilla had a poor offensive record of only 1.26 goals per game. Unfortunately, they lost Youssef En-Nesyri, who was their key striker and by far the best goalscorer. This year, they are creating goalscoring chances, but they seem to lack the quality to convert them. Now, they are even worse, with just five scored goals in six rounds - 0.83 per game.

Real Valladolid opened the season with a 1:0 win over Espanyol. However, after that initial good start, they were simply terrible and won just two points in the following five. Also, they are by far the worst offensive team this season, with only two scored goals - 0.33 per game.

In the previous h2h games, we mostly saw low-scoring games. In the last eight h2h games, they were under 2.5 goals on seven occasions. Considering constant low-scoring h2h games and all the above, an under 2.5 goals should be the safest option for this La Liga tie.
